psychotherapy

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a scientifically based psychotherapy method. It assumes that thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations, and behavior are closely interconnected and influence each other.

In therapy, we therefore consider not only thoughts and actions, but also emotional and physical experiences. Stress, tension, or traumatic experiences often manifest physically : for example, as inner restlessness, exhaustion, or a feeling of pressure. Taking these signals seriously and understanding them better is an important part of the therapeutic process.

Together we will develop new, more helpful ways of dealing with distressing thoughts, feelings, and physical reactions. The goal is not only change, but also a more conscious, accepting, and compassionate way of treating oneself.

The so-called "third wave" of behavioral therapy expands upon classic CBT by incorporating mindfulness- and acceptance-based approaches . These methods help individuals perceive their inner experiences without having to immediately react to or control them. This fosters greater inner flexibility and self-regulation.

My work also incorporates elements of schema therapy . It helps to identify deeply ingrained patterns that often originated in early relationship experiences and continue to influence our perceptions today.

My therapeutic approach is characterized by mindfulness, respect, and a holistic view of the individual . If needed, simple mindfulness-based or body-oriented exercises can also be integrated into the therapy.

Procedure and costs

As a private practice, I offer psychotherapy for privately insured patients, those eligible for public assistance, and self-paying patients. Since services and reimbursement conditions can vary significantly depending on the insurance company and policy, I recommend clarifying your individual policy terms with your health insurance provider before beginning treatment.

Please also familiarize yourself with the standard procedures of your insurance company and any necessary applications or forms. I will, of course, be happy to assist you with any questions regarding cost coverage.

For self-paying patients, billing is based on the German fee schedule for psychotherapists (GOP). Some consciously choose this option to remain flexible and independent of insurance applications.

For those with statutory health insurance, treatment may be possible in individual cases via the cost reimbursement procedure . This must be applied for and approved by the health insurance company in advance. You can obtain more detailed information directly from your health insurance company.

1.

Initial consultation

Also known as the first consultation. In this initial meeting, we will get to know each other and discuss your concerns and current challenges. Depending on your insurance status, one or two further consultations may follow.

2.

Probatory sessions

Typically, up to 5 trial sessions take place. These serve for mutual acquaintance, a diagnostic assessment, and the joint clarification of the goals and framework of the therapy.

3.

therapy

If we decide to work together, an application for reimbursement will follow – depending on the insurance company. Once approved, the actual psychotherapy begins.

Online or in person

Psychotherapy is available in person at my practice or online.

Both are effective. You choose the format that suits your everyday life: in person, online, or a flexible combination.

If possible, we will start with an in-person appointment. Online sessions are possible at any time after that.
